Last Thursday and today, I went to have interviews at Accenture and IBM SD Thailand.
It’s a good experience. Even though I have passed many interviews but I still can’t do it very well. Trying to sell yourself by answering a few question is challenging, isn’t it?
Too bad that I can’t expose questions and tests I have taken here. (Accenture HR even give me a notice not to publish the questions in the interview)
Anyway, I’ve got some ideas from those interviews….
Is interviewing the best option for selecting your applicants?
Each company wants best people… And for most companies, ‘best’ doesn’t mean high GPA or participating a lot of activities (or have a lot of programming experience)
They seem to want people who is rich in soft skills.
And most people believe that they can do that from interview. (Or it seems they do)
But even though how well they plan for the interview (question, criteria) It’s impossible to really know your interview.
And in my opinion, the skills those interviewing test the most is the presentation & persuasion skills.
In conclusion, traditional method like interviews may prove a successful in the organization.
Undeniably, this method succeeds in recruiting employees who can really work in the organization.
But my question is “Does it bring the best people into the organization?”
Is there a better option ?
